Hi we have been experiencing issue with the registration form for the King & Queen of the North please fill out the following form for your registration. You must resend your registration. I apologize for any inconvenient. We have tried something different but it did not work.

Other information:

Bring your own chairs, water, snacks and food.

There will be a 30 minute break for lunch after the round robin play.

For players coming from south of the province, take highway 11 North, then take the Vanier Blvd. exit, then turn right onto Vanier Blvd., then turn right on Johnson and then right on Centennial.

Format: Round robin amongst the teams in each division for the open bracket, therefore 5 games / team. A R/R will be played in both the 60+ & 70+ brackets. R/R is to establish the ranking for the double elimination playoffs.

July 15, 2023 : Men & Women Doubles: Start time will be the same at 8:30 AM

July 16, 2023 : Mixed Doubles: Start time at 9:00 AM

  • Playoff: All teams will play in playoff (double elimination with consolation bracket format).
  • Round robin games to 11 points, win by 1. Switch ends at 6 pts with a 1 minute timeout / team. Team that wins coin flip gets to pick first serve or court side.

Playoff games to 15 points, win by 2. Switch ends at 8 pts with a 1 minute timeout / team. Higher seeded team gets to pick either first serve or court side.

Medical timeout: 15 minutes

Prizes:

  • $200 for 1st, $150 for 2nd and $100 for 3rd (Men Doubles Open-Based on 12 teams registered)
  • $100 for 1st, $75 for 2nd and $50 for 3rd(Men Doubles 60+ & 70+ – based on 6 teams registered)
  • $200 for 1st, $150 for 2nd and $100 for 3rd (Women Doubles (all events)- based on 10 teams registered)
  • $400 for 1st, $200 for 2nd and $100 for 3rd (Mixed Doubles (all events)-based on 15 teams registered)

**Prize $$ will be reduced if # of teams are less in any of the brackets.

If a player is hurt during play and the team can’t continue playing, all games played and to be played by that team will no longer count.

If your team is called 3 times for a game and you don’t show up, the other team wins automatically 11-0.

Winning team must bring score sheet to the results table. Balls are to be left in basket at the courts.

Seeding for the double elimination playoffs will be determined by the following:

–     Total wins.

–     In case of a tie between teams, (+/-) will determine seeding. If still tied, who beat who will determine seeding.

–     If teams are still tied, coin flip will be used.

Format may need to be changed if # of teams in either the any of the brackets are low.

Teams who drop down to the consolation bracket will play for third place only. The winner’s bracket will play for 1st and 2nd place. Match 1st and 2st place will be a 2 out of 3 with games to 11 (win by 2).
